The Big Weekend at Manchester Pride

Manchester Pride is back and here are some of the acts for The Big Weekend 2017.

Award-winning singer, songwriter, and Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm (Melanie C) is one of the UK’s best-loved performers. In a UK Pride event exclusive, presented by G-A-Y, Melanie will take to ‘The Thomas Cook Airlines USA Stage’ over the August bank holiday weekend.

Winner of the 2015 X Factor, Louisa Johnson (the programme’s youngest winner) will also be making an appearance as well as Finnish pop singer, songwriter and voice actress Saara Sofia Aalto (runner-up in ​‘The Voice of Finland’ in 2012 and contestant in ‘The X Factor’ 2016.)

Fashionista, author and television presenter Gok Wan will be trying his hand at something completely different as he transforms into a 90’s deep house and reggae DJ. The LGBT icon who is famed for showing people how to look good naked will now be helping them look even better on the dance floor!

Hercules and Love Affair vocalist and fashion icon Shaun J. Wright will be joining us in 2017. Featuring on several acclaimed releases with Stereogamous, Bell Boys, Bobmo, Kiki, Alinka, and System of Survival he is now livening up dance floors worldwide as a DJ.

The Manchester Pride Festival, which encompasses The Manchester Pride Parade, The Big Weekend and The Candlelit Vigil, will take place this year between Friday 25th to Monday 28th August.
Tens of thousands of people from across the UK and Europe will flock to Manchester’s world-renowned Gay Village for the events and parade.

Tickets are on sale now with weekend tickets going for £20.

Manchester Pride 2016 raised a record breaking £149,000 and attracted acts and appearances from a variety of artists, including Will Young, Fleur East, MNEK, Shura, Judge Jules and Groove Armada.
